Trip to the Dentist

Who would have thought that at the young age of two you could have three cavities? Imagine my surprise when I took my first born to the dentist and heard that news! What could it be? Chewy vitamins? Fruit snacks? The juice that is 3/4 watered down? Guilt, guilt, guilt...I thought we had followed all the "rules" to keeping our children's teeth healthy. So here we are returning to the dentist to have two cavities filled! After our first trip, in which we used "laughing" gas and no novacaine, I thought I would need to be sedated to survive this trip! As we approach the office Bryce exclaims, "I want to go home, Mom!"...now my nerves are worse, how can I put him through this? I am sick to my stomach with worry about him having the needles and fillings! I sure do hope that Dr. Durra has a good movie playing today. As we enter Kevin takes Kennedy to be checked and Bryce wants to go with her (what a wonderful protective big brother). As she is getting checked Bryce is called. Here it goes...as Dr. Durra places Bryce into the chair Kung Fu Panda is playing in the ceiling, and within a minute he has him numbed and prepared for fillings and my little man had no tears, not even a wince! Bryce was so cooperative and in the end, taught me a lesson about perseverance and trust! I am so proud of his bravery!

Our Angel Turns One!

It is difficult to fathom that a year has passed since we brought home our baby girl, Kennedy! I can clearly recall the moment that Kevin announced her arrival like it was yesterday. Since that day Kennedy has developed into a 'lil lady and amazes us with her personality and accomplishments. She has gone from bottles, bibs, and booties to cooing, crawling, and cups! Sitting, searching, and spoons to laughing, learning, and "la-la-las." She will greet you with a wave hello, and say "ank yu" for giving her anything that sparks her interest. She is creative and loves to paint with both her food and anything she can get her tiny hands on. Admiration for her brother, Bryce, drives her to accomplish new ventures, whether it be jumping on the bed or sliding down the steps, fear does not phase her. As we enter into her second year of life Kennendy is preparing to walk independently and communicate with us about all she is discovering!
